After receiving your application materials, she will contact you directly to schedule a time to interview.Interviews take place at World Affairs' office, located at 1617 John F. Kennedy Blvd in Philadelphia, PA 19103. Please arrive in
Western business dress.Global Smarts runs from January to May with an orientation session occurring before Winter Break.
Once enrolled in the program, Mentors commit to:
1. Teaching weekly 45 - 75 minute global education lessons to middle school students (curriculum provided by World Affairs) with a co-Mentor(s)
2. Attending weekly professional development and training sessions at the World Affairs Council office on Fridays 3:00 - 5:00
Mentor Qualifications:
- Passionate about global affairs and helping Philadelphia students
- Organized and dependable
- Willing and able to travel to assigned middle school
- Experience working with kids is a plus, but not required
- Able to work as part of a team
- Any year, any major!
- Must be willing to obtain all 3 clearances needed for working in PA schools (PA Child Abuse Clearance; PA Criminal Background Check; FBI Fingerprint Check)
